How to wash human hair and synthetic fiber?
🧴 Care Guide: Washing Human Hair vs. Synthetic Fiber
Proper maintenance is key to longevity. While both fiber types require a gentle touch, their washing protocols differ significantly. Follow these tailored steps to preserve the quality and style of your hair piece.
✨ Human Hair Wash Protocol
  1. Pre-Wash Prep: Always detangle dry hair first using a wide-tooth comb, working from ends to roots to prevent breakage.
  2. Gentle Cleansing: Rinse or submerge in lukewarm water. Apply mild shampoo, smoothing it downward in sections. Avoid twisting, rubbing, or piling hair.
  3. Condition & Rinse: Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Apply leave-in conditioner to mid-lengths and ends only (skip roots/knots). Let sit for 2–3 minutes, then rinse again.
  4. Drying: Press out excess water gently—never wring. Blot with a towel, mount on a wig head, style as desired, and blow-dry on low heat.
💫 Synthetic Fiber Wash Protocol
  1. Pre-Wash Prep: Detangle dry hair with a wide-tooth comb before wetting.
  2. Soak Cleanse: Submerge in lukewarm water (86℉–95℉) mixed with wig-specific shampoo. Soak for 3–5 minutes without agitating.
  3. Rinse & Condition: Rinse gently in the direction of hair growth. Apply leave-in conditioner to mid-lengths and ends (avoid roots/knots), wait 2–3 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with cool water flowing downward.
  4. Drying: Press out water with hands or blot with a towel. Shake gently to restore style, then air-dry only on a folding wig stand.
⚠️ Critical Safety Reminders
  • Never comb wet hair: This causes irreversible stretching and breakage.
  • Avoid Styrofoam/block heads when wet: They permanently stretch the cap.
  • Keep away from high heat/open flames: Synthetic fibers melt instantly; human hair can scorch.
Can hair products be bleached and dyed?
Whether you can color your hair piece depends entirely on the fiber type. Please review the following guidelines to avoid irreversible damage.
✨ Human Hair: Dyeing & Lightening
  • Dyeing Darker (Safe): You can safely deposit color to achieve a darker shade. For best results, start with white, platinum blonde, or light grey bases, as these accept dark pigment most evenly. We recommend having a professional stylist perform the service.
  • Bleaching / Lightening (High Risk): We strongly advise against lifting color from human hair pieces. The chemical process strips the cuticle and can cause severe, permanent dryness and breakage. If you choose to proceed despite this risk, always perform a strand test in a hidden section first to assess damage tolerance.
💫 Synthetic Fiber: No Traditional Dye
Synthetic fibers are not compatible with standard oxidative hair dyes. Attempting to color them will melt or permanently ruin the fiber structure. There is no safe method to alter the color of synthetic hair pieces using conventional dye products.
